The effect of adding Ag, Zn and Cd on the glass forming ability, hardness and kinetics of crystallization of the binary system SSe20 has been studied. There is an increase in the value of the hardness due to the increase in the strength of chemical bonds formed by the added metals. Studies of the crystallization kinetics using the non-isothermal single scan technique show that no solid solution has occurred. Phase separation may occur during the preparation of the investigated compositions or during the heating process.
